Northern Nevada Ballet Academy’s Summer Intensive is designed as a four-week immersive training experience where dancers can grow consistently through focused daily work in technique, conditioning, and artistic development. The structure of the program remains consistent throughout all four weeks, allowing dancers to build strength, refine their technique, and deepen their understanding of movement over time.
Each day begins with conditioning classes that prepare the body for training. These sessions include Pilates, PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), stretching, flexibility work, and strengthening exercises that help dancers develop stability, alignment, and injury prevention while improving overall mobility and control.
Following the morning conditioning, dancers participate in focused ballet classes emphasizing classical technique, posture, coordination, and musicality. Through barre work, center exercises, and floor barre training, dancers will strengthen their technical foundation and gain a deeper understanding of proper movement mechanics.
In the afternoon sessions, dancers explore a variety of additional styles and movement approaches. Classes may include lyrical, hip hop, contemporary hip hop, and fusion classes that blend different techniques and styles. These classes encourage creativity, musicality, and performance quality while helping dancers become more versatile and expressive artists.
Throughout the program, dancers will also take part in discussions and short sessions focused on injury prevention, body awareness, and personal growth as artists. The goal of the intensive is not only to improve technical ability but also to help dancers gain confidence, discipline, and a deeper connection to their training.
By maintaining a consistent training structure across all four weeks, dancers are able to see real progress in their strength, technique, and artistry while building meaningful friendships and unforgettable memories along the way.
