My name is Yevette and my earliest memory of dancing is as a fairy opposite my mother’s goblin to Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” in our living room at age four.  That began a love of dance and performance that has continued unabated to the present.  I began formal dance training in high school at Betsy Hunewill’s Dance School of Smith Valley and haven’t stopped taking classes whenever possible since.

My first teaching job was with Beth Macmillan’s Teddy Bear Dancers program, which I bought in 2002. After 15 years, I realized that I didn’t like owning a business, so I closed the program and began teaching for Kia Crader-Saunders at Fascinating Rhythm School of Performing Arts.

Since northern Nevada is my happy place, my performance experiences have mainly been here, with companies including Area 51 Dance Co., Wing and A Prayer Dance Co., Hootchy Kootchy Burlesque, 5 Branches, FRDance “Night at the Library” series, and most recently – White Light Bollywood Productions.

I am blessed that I am paid to share my love of dance and performing with children of the Truckee Meadows.
