About Becky Rodriguez
Becky has over 30 years of experience in the performing arts. Born and raised in Reno, she grew up learning to dance. She took many years of lessons in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and modern. Becky danced competitively for several years. As a teenager, she began teaching students dance and the theater arts. This passion towards the performing arts has never waned.
Working with many local community theater groups in college and beyond, she learned to create and perform on stage and direct behind the scenes.
Becky taught in Washoe County School District schools for seven years. Chiefly at Galena High School as their theater teacher, secondarily as an English teacher. Becky directed, produced, and choreographed twelve shows during this time, including plays and musicals. Twenty-four additional shows were created, written, and performed by students with Becky's guidance.
Most recently Becky's work in the Reno community has come full circle as she returned to her home studio of Fascinating Rhythm School of Performing Arts (FR Dance) now merged with NNBA. During her time back with FR Dance: Becky taught theater; substituted Tap and Musical Theater classes; stage managed all recitals; and helped with administrative tasks to help all families have a wonderful experience with the performing arts.
Becky recognizes the local expertise and talent of those here and Reno and Sparks. She loves continuing to have the tradition and opportunity to pass on the love of storytelling and the gift performing arts for our community.
